Brief
My final major project allowed me to explore and create anything I wished, as long it met three requirements. The requirements were the outcomes needed to be produced to a professional standard, show ambition and it needed to push our skill sets.
Solution
I love coffee and Cardiff has a very unique independent coffee scene, bringing blends and flavours from all over the world to our compact friendly city. I love typography and creating typefaces, so this project has gave me the freedom to create a typeface that is inspired by the contemporary coffee scene. I combined my reviews, interviews, experiences, images and typeface together to create this visually rich unorthodox magazine.
Typeface
I created a typeface inspired by the scenery of Cardiff’s independent coffee community, that thrives through Cardiff. I achieved this by understanding the history and modern twist applied by the coffee shops allowing me to create a typeface that expressed a contemporary look and feel.
